First of I just wanna thank anyone (and everyone) who replied to my posts a few weeks back. With the help of the forums and links from the forums I managed to get my bike running. When I bought it it would not idle under 4k, this being my first bike I did not know what to do, after a quick google search I found these forms. After reading for a while I figured it was a carb problem, so took the carburetors off and cleaned them out. It took me about a three days (including part ship time). Once I got them back on and started the bike, AND it idled I could not stop smiling. So again thanks for all of the help. Also, thanks to Chacal for shipping out the parts I ordered so quickly!

I still have to synch the carbs, which I may do myself or I may just run by the local bike shop and let them do it as right now I am broke and cant invest in a carb tuner, and none of the "diy" methods seem to be working for me.

Anyway, I have been riding the bike back and forth from work (which is just a few miles from where I live) and I have to say I love it, I mean I really love it. I moved to Illinois a few years ago and sold by car before I moved. So for the last two years I have been without a vehicle. Not only is having a way to get around such a nice feeling, the feeling of riding the bike around makes it so much better. Sadly I only have a few more weeks with the bike before I head back up to Chicago for school, though I intend to use those weeks to their full potential.

I still have a bit of work I wanna do on the bike, eventually I plan on styling it more alone the lines of a cafe racer. After seeing some of the work done by the members of these forums I am very excited to get some work done to my bike. I will probably post some pictures once I get around to actually taking them.

The only problem I have having with the bike now, and I am not even remotely sure what this could be, is that there is this really weird sound that comes from the front of the bike when it is around 2k RPM. It sounds almost exactly like a ton of crickets. Any ideas what it could be?

    Crickets, eh?

could be either wheel bearings (not likely), tach or speedo. for experiment's sake, disconnect the speedo and tach cables (one at a time) and go for a ride. see if the noise goes away. If it does, the offending instrument will have to be cleaned and lubed, along with the cable(s).
