Newbie to the Forum, Great people here, been readin posts for a while now. Thanks for having me!

I'm a little frustrated right now so I thought I'd post for some suggestions.

I can't seem to get the Darn Air Box back on straight and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the best way to get them back on.

I took them off because I'm having trouble with the idle and I thought it might be an air leak somewhere. They looked like they weren't on striaght in the first place. Now I can see why the PO didn't get them on straight either.

Any suggestions/tricks would be helpful, in the meantime I'll keep trying to figure it out.

    Thanks

    M

I had the same problem. I took the air filter out and applied pressure to get the boots onto the two centre carbs first, with the help of a blunt screwdriver. Possibly a bicycle tyre lever is a good idea.

I read on the forum that a quick (1 minute) bath in very hot water helps them return to their correct shape, before refitting.

Thanks! It's always nice to hear your not the only one having a problem :)

Hand inside the box was a great idea, I also straightened out the clamps a bit and that seemed to helped. (they were causing them to pop off when you went to tighten them)

However, I might yet have to try the hot water trick.

Still at it because they popped off again on me GRRRR

oh well, take a break and try again
