    Hello guys!

I have a problem with my turn signals, i have checked all the cables, and there is no problem, How can i check if the relay has been f*cked up? (it´s the original relay i guess, Tridon electronic flasher HD13) or is there something else i should go after?

    /Robert

what are the signals doing or not doing? you may just have low voltage if they turn on and do not flash.
clean all connectors. clean the control switch use electric cleaner spray and dielectric grease.
if your flasher system is oem you need to make sure you have 28 watt bulbs, it is the bulb wattage that makes the flashers work most brand name bulbs are 27 watts. if UK 650 21 watt.

you should be able to pop the cover of the flasher off and clean the contacts
try unplugging the canceler unit if you still have it.

Ok, maybe i wasn´t clear enough with my question, but the flashers worked very well until they didn´t. I have checked all the cables and contacts, sprayed and cleaning them but there is no respond at all. I am going to check the Self- cancelling system tomorrow, is there a possibillity to operate the system whithout the SCS?

Still not quite clear enough, it helps to know how they are failing. Are they illuminating but not flashing, or do they not illuminate at all, and are both sides the same?

Yes it is OK, and part of the troubleshooting process. A bad self cancelling unit can hold the flasher relay in a disabled state - no illumination on the flashers.

They don´t work at all, from working great to not at all. Totally dead.

Anything else not working, such as the horns or brake light? If so, be sure to verify the signal fuse is OK and that the fuse box terminals are not broken.

The self cancelling unit can cause totally dead, so just disconnect it and see if they illuminate.

The flasher relay is also suspect since both sides are dead. If the self cancelling unit does not solve the problem apply a temporary jumper at the flasher relay main harness from Br to Br/W. This should illuminate either the left or right side depending on which is selected by the turn signal switch on the left control. If they do illuminate with the jumper, and the self cancelling unit is not disabling the flasher relay, then time for a new flasher relay - or perhaps a cleaning as XJ550H suggested.

The relay you have is not the original, but is a suitable aftermarket replacement. It is also a sealed unit, and not cleanable (where the original realy is not sealed, and cleanable).

The self canceling unit is on the frame under the gas tank (you'l have to lift the rear of the tank for access), and is unmistakably long.

Everything else is working just fine, My five cents for this is that the relay has been given up. I should try to get me a relay tomorrow that works with the blinkers and check if that solves the problem.

make sure it only has 2 connectors you should be able to find one that is pinned correctly for your yamaha harness connector. and load.
also you want one that is not for many lights

Well I kind of missed you were using that Tridon HD13 flasher relay. That means the auto cancel unit has already been eliminated as the Tridon would require a reconfiguration of the wires. If you did not do that mod and a PO did you might want to check that out also to be sure all is wired correctly with a good ground added at the "P" pin.
