Anybody? Where can I find a gnarly flat knobbed treaded type tire for my XJ650? I want something that looks like it was a scrambler tire or enduro tire..

Somebody must have an idea for me on this!

Thanks 1Fasthoe! On the right track- even more "racy", please! Like the Dunlops and stuff I've seen on real Flat Trackers...

flattrack.com forum and ask around for a used set of goodyears. they will last about 800 miles of street use.

Awesome! Going on there now to look! I'll be happy to buy some new ones or order them from wherever I need to, I just want that speedy look and some sweet writing on the sides..

Kevineleven- That looks promising. Couldn't find the side view though, does it have any lettering on the tire?

all tires do, just buy a paint pen and you are all set.

Paint pen's not the same, but that's a valid suggestion nonetheless. Thanks everyone for the ideas. Keep them coming if you think of any others!

How do these tires run on the street? I'm thinking about going for that look, when my tires run out.

A word of caution here; putting "dirt" treaded tires on a high-revving and relatively heavy street bike like an XJ is a recipe for disaster.

There's a reason there are street tires and dirt tires and "dual purpose" tires. You can get away with some "Adventure Bike" type tires (like certain models of the Trailwing) but you won't get "street bike" performance OR HANDLING from them.

Buying the wrong type of tires based on a certain "look" is fine if you only ride 5 miles at a time and only in a straight line, but for regular day to day street use, you need street tires.

Anything else is simply asking for trouble, and NOT SAFE. There are better ways to look cool.
