Is there anyway to straighten one of these float pins that holds the floats on the float pillars on a mikuni? I seemed to have bent mine a little and now that float won't move freely.

Just replace it. See if Len has them, or see if somebody has some "loose" 28mm Mikuni parts and can mail you one.

Ok, pm'd him to check. Must be the fates telling me to not put them together yet, lol, makes you wonder sometimes. Oh yeah, I got some black rtv to go over some cracks in my intake carb boots, should I put that on while the carbs are off, or after they are reinstalled, or both? Has a 24 hour setup time so I am trying to time it right.

The RTV works best if you can pack it into the cracks; I did mine while the carbs were off, so I could "expand" the cracks with pressure from a finger inside, then pack the RTV in with the cracks opened up. Once returned to original shape, the RTV oozes out and can be wiped off even with the surface. Let it cure thoroughly before reinstalling the carbs.

...don't forget the bicycle innertube trick....measure and cut an old bicycle innertube to the correct length, then after doing the RTV treatment, slip the innertube on. It gives a good clean look and helps to seal any cracks you may have missed.
Just make sure the inner tube is a smaller diameter so that you have to stretch it over for a snug fit.
