Just looked at an 85 honda nighthawk 650.
Complete, clean and looked well taken care of. Had battery but starter didn't do anything. Could be simple fix.
Price is good (600, unless someone bids more on ebay) and the best: it's only half a mile away from my house.

Been trying to convince myself not to get it. Thoughts? (Oh right, it's actually like asking children about their opinion on candy)

I had one a few years ago and really loved it. It 's a low maintenance, trouble-free bike.

    Good to hear.
And it comes with a service manual, which is always a nice plus.

You will never have to check valve clearances. Get it.
I found the Nighthawk to be a bit cramped for me, but would have bought one if I had found one for a price I could afford.

Yeah, I think I should. I always wanted a complete and original old(er) bike that remains untouched.
I do have an 85 kawasaki that i wanted to restore for that purpose. But I couldnt resist and it is now completely disassembled and ready to be modded as my next project.

There's a reason! If it's complete, clean, and what you want/like I'd go for it as long as the finances and SWMBO is on board. I guess it's always easier to ask forgiveness than permission if shes not.

    Lol
My gf wouldn't know because a: she doesn't like bikes and b: she has no idea how many bikes I have. She gave up on tracking years ago

Well, bids are going up now and I have set my personal limit to a certain number which I will not exceed. I may not get it, which would be a shame. Or maybe a good thing....

Argh, bike is up to 1000, have to let it go. That's money I can put into my current/future projects.
