My 81 Seca 750 has the frame mounted MC. I happen to have a handlebar MC and lever from an FZ600. Can they be changed over without much hassle?

Unfortunately I'm not sure on the answer to this, but it probably can't hurt to try so long as you don't permanently mod stuff.
Now to exercise my bad habit of answering a question with... several, other questions...
Have you tried out the frame mounted MC? How did you like it? Did you notice major problems/drawbacks? I'm just wondering because that is one minor modification that I am considering this winter.

Getting at the frame mounted master cyl is a pain. I'd prefer the handlebar mounted one, easier to service.

you can switch to the handlebar-style MC, however you will have to either chop up the handlebar covers or get rid of them/replace the bars, and get a new brake line cut to go from the MC to the union.

also, make sure that the handlebar MC you got has the correct mirror mount and the angle on it is the same as the clutch perch...
