FREE engine from 1983 XJ750 Maxim

I have an engine that I removed from a 1983 XJ750 Maxim. I did this for a good friend. It had low compression on one cylinder and I think it was a partially open valve. The head was removed and the engine was stored inside. Later I found that the engine has been moved outside and rained in. The transmission and clutch was in excellent condition. It still has the starter and stator but the cylinder walls are rusted. Might be able to do something with them.
Rather than throw the engine in the scrap I want to offer it to someone here for FREE. Too many good parts to throw it away. Prefer someone local to Jeffersonville, Indiana across the river from Louisville, KY but will give to anyone that wants it. Text me at (502) 727-5642. Need gone.

 

I would take it off your hands. Are you in a big rush to get rid of it?
I drive truck and get through the area a fair amount. Could meet you at truck stop in memphis.

Hi Ghost, Memphis is only about 18 miles from me but I am not sure I could pick the engine up by myself. Have had three heart surgeries but might be able to find help loading it. It is not eating anything but my wife is wanting it gone.

I have no problem holding on to it. If you can give me an idea when it might be? I have been tempted to toss it but can't bring myself to do it.

 

I'd be interested, but Ghost will probably be there sooner than I can be. Earliest for me would be Christmastime, and I'd have to convince the wife to let me haul an engine back home with us.

 

It will likely be late Sept/ early Oct for me.
