My buddy and I went to bike night on main street.
After checking out the other bikes and returning to ours we noticed several dents in both our gas tanks.....
One looked like a fist mark(on mine) and my buddy got a bunch of knuckle mark dents on his. I manged to fix mine with a suction cup dent puller but the knuckle marks wont pull out of my buddy's V65.
What kind if jerk goes around messing up other people's bikes?

Sorry about your dents. As you said a jerk would. Can your buddy's be removed with one of those paintless dent removal systems? I also have a classic 69 Firebird convertible and when taking it to a show it's surprising the people that will just pop the hood to check out the engine or get into the drivers seat like they own it. I don't know the cure but I understand your frustration.

80% of the problems of the world are due to knuckle dragging sub-humans that do stuff like that.

What a fantastic world it could potentially be if I could just snap my fingers and ... P-O-O-O-F ! ! ... they're all gone. heheh

I sympathize. It's a real drag. I've had some cage driving moron back into my bike and knock it over, then take off, leaving it lying on the road. I found it that way the next morning, gas still dribbling out. That was probably just a bonehead move by some moron who can't drive. But to intentionally put dents in a bike's tank? Wow, you've certainly got your quota of lowlife scum in your town.

I hate to generalize, but during the time I lived there I found a real antipathy in SE Michigan towards anything transportation oriented that was "foreign." I had people hassle me for not "supporting atuomotive manufacturing" because I was riding my bike for my commute...I expect it has only gotten worse as the "Big Three" continue to struggle.

Changing ground- youre dead right on your generalization but it seems to only apply to cars now(I drive a Ford).
Bike nights in Royal Oak come in two varieties. Wednesday is cruiser night and Thursday is"crotchrocket night".
Both are completeley dominated by Jap bikes with Harleys coming in a distant second on cruiser night.

Heh, I was at the burger place on Main last night(monday), and a huge pack of kids on their crotch rockets started ruining the atmosphere. Loud, annoying, screaming at each other in arabic, revving their engines, etc. Just tryin to have a nice night out with the 650. I did see some girl on a Hayabusa attempting to drive it, lol. That bike was a weee bit to big for her.

Metro- The cruiser guys are generally a bit more mature than the crotchrocket crowd. The cops get alot of revenue from the "crotchies".
If you are out there and see a red XJ750 with a stock fairing, stop by and say hello....

I grew up in Novi and Redford now I live across state but the people aren't that much different.

I worked at a bar for a while, and while working my bike has been knocked over 3 times in a year and a half. the last guy who did it got a nice relaxing two week stay at a local hospital. No to mention the gobs of people i have scared the living crap out of for touching it.

I want to put a sign on it like "you can look but DO NOT TOUCH" but i feel it would provoke the 'tards that live in this god forsaken college town.

I did catch some one else's bike getting kicked over. so i threw a few hooks and took him to they guy who owned the bike. At that point he got what he really deserved.

    ha ha, thanks robert.

It was 4 month ago and it still makes my blood boil. It seems to me that anyone who vandalises a bike isnt responsable and dosent want to even know of the consequenses that waits for them.

I just try to teach those people a lesson for every bike (and bike owner) that has ever been vandalized.

Read all the posts. Had my bike vandalized more than 13 years ago, and it still pi$$e$ me off to think that some moron is more than likely dragging his knuckles across other peoples property, and going unpunished. All the anger I had for this sub-human is not worth the effort, but lord help the pi$$-ant I ever catch in the act!!

Sorry to hear about your badges. It's probably not much help but I have one badge in real good shape that I'd send ya for the cost of postage. I had my bike painted and decided not to put the badges back on. (one of them was really messed up anyways).

Wows yeah thats a bit worse and could have ended badly.

artjim thx for the offer I may take you up on that I also have not decided what I am doing with the tank The bike is in for paint I added some more parts for him to do and haven't really picked a color yet so I am holding up the process that should have been done. It will either be back to stock badges in which you are the first I have heard to have an original not repro or some sort of graphic.
