so after all my work ( and currently waiting for my tank sealing kit to set) ive come acrost an interesting conundrum, it doesnt work! xD, i ordered a replacement but a few hours after while i was looking through random (could use it if i had the cash) items, that the part i bough has wires coming off of it. my question is as follows, 1. does it need power to it to function ( similar to a car) or is it just a sensor that doesnt effect its function but is needed for inspection purposes? thanks again in advance :D

It's a brake fluid level sensor. It's not necessary but if your computer monitoring system is working the LCD word "brake" will appear if those wires are not connected

Depending on the MC that could just be the brake light switch also
