Can anyone tell me how to get the brake pistons compressed to make room for the new pads?

A big ol' C-clamp should do the trick.

    Rebuild them...

I did mine and the pads had plenty of room.

    Master cylinder
    Brake lines
    Pads
    Calipers
    And. Rear brake.
It will make you happy happy. :):):)

If they are really worn down there may have been more brake fluid added to the M/C, so you may want to remove a little so that the fluid you are compressing has some where to go. Just a thought....

This is the only viable solution. The original caliper seals were only supposed to have lasted TWO years.

Hey, Fitz. I just noticed your updated location. Might I suggest fur-lined boxers for the "wedding tackle".
