Are they supposed to be on all the time like marker lights? They still blink when the turn signal switch is turned. On an 86 xj700. I can't remember if they have always done this. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

To my knowledge (which is pitifully short), US models have constant on/running front turn signals. Don't know why this isn't true for rear signals.

I modified my front signals to be on when bike is on. It was a simple mod. As far as the rear. I believe it has something to do with the color of the lense. Amber instead of red. I would like to find some stock red lenses so I can go ahead and do the rear also. More light is a good thing in order to be seen.

Thanks for the reply. I was adding some power connections for my radar detector and before I started turned on the key to test for 12v and noticed them on. I conldn't remember them beigh on since I had never been sitting in front of my bike with it on and havn't been out at night yet.

    Now I know.

    Thanks.

    Samsr,
I read on another forum the guys are painting the inside of the rear lense covers with Testors Luminescent red (like candy apple) so you can still see thru them. That way you can hook up one of those trailer connectors (find them at most auto parts stores) so your rear turn signals come on with your brake lights. I did the mod on my XJ when I put the bullet turn signals on it.
I haven't been able to get to the hobby store that sell it yet, but I think I'm going to do the mod on my Shadow as soon as I find the paint. Some of them have just changed their lenses with red ones (used silicone to hold them in) but it's a pain when you have to change the bulb when one burns out.
