I have an 81 XJ 650 and my wheel spacing is off. I removed my front axle and wheel to paint it. When i go to torque it down, the wheel walks to the right side when the pinch bolt is tightened. Is there supppose to be a spacer between the right side fork and the wheel ?

Are you tightening the axle nut first, then the pinch bolt?

Item 18 collar - it does tend to fall out when working on the front wheel.
