This fuel tank question has probably come up before ......

I have a clean 1981 XJ550 Maxim model that is just begging to become a Cafe Bike with a Seca type tank. It runs superb and handles too good to be just a cruiser all its life.

Which XJ Fuel Tanks will fit the XJ550 MAX frame without major mods?

    XS Special Tanks:
Will the 1980-81 XS650 Special and XS750-850 Special tanks fit?

    SECA TANKS:
Realizing the Seca I 550 tank will work as-is. Any others?

What about the XJ650-750 Seca tanks?

    Anyone tried this switch before?

Fitz: Oh sure ... now I see the prev. post .... just had to ask. Great minds ... (respondent now mumbling inaudibly)

I like the 1986 (was first year) Radian fuel tank; its got style without the side knee indents. Can tank dents be pulled out if not too deep?

Looks like a natural swap, great research bf.
