The bike has been sitting for 5 months now.

Without starting the bike I can get it into first but not into second. The neutral light comes back on when I push the pedal up.
I don't think that is going to do anything
I was also messng with the link adjustment, but

Could the plates be sticking together? Will the become unstuck after the oil starts running around? (Once it runs?)

Should I check something before I put it back together?

    Thank you.

Are you turning the rear wheel a bit as you're going through the gears? AFAIK it's almost impossible to go through the gears without either the wheel or the motor turning.

    What is AFAIK?

Will wait until my work is done, then try.
I am just sitting in the garage watching some epoxy in my carbs to dry. It is often raining here, but today is sunny and can't wait to get back on the road...that is why I am touching all the buttons in my bike.

I guess I will have to drive my miata today...(At least is the closest to a motorcycle)

    Thank you

Yeah, what stereo said. THings have probably gotten a little gummed up as well. Probably wouldn't hurt to do an oil change. BUt I'm sure once it's running, and everything warms up it'll be fine.

You can try the seafoam treatment in the oil and do no load change on it. that should unstick everything
