When i both my bike, 2 months ago, the women who sold me the bike gave me this carb set. They were the original carbs.
I'm trying to figure out my bike history by looking at those carburetors.
    What do you think?

    My bike is a maxim 750 1983 with 29500 km (18000 miles)
Got it for 300$ in a fair condition.

Looks like the bike was parked for a long time?
    Hard to say i believe.

    Thanks!

A lot of these bikes were "parked for a long time". GREAT to get 2 sets of carbs...

Yup, they sat. Get out the lemon juice and get them cleaned up.

I won a set from E-Bay that were completely "carmelized" with dried gas and looked far worse (for $13 shipped) that were sold as "parts only" carbs. They cleaned up well and perform great, I didn't have to do any elaborate dunk chemicals or ultrasound or boil in lemon juice, just Wal-Mart carb cleaner and a guitar string.

You have a extra set of carbs because the PO did not know how to clean them. Keep the extra set for a spare, I would clean and rebuild them and have it ready to go on the bike. Since it sat for a long time you should go through all the systems and inspect them.

I 2nd that mlew. If it sat that long you better give the brakes a good looking over and for sure look at the rear shoes for coming apart.

I would clean those carbs up and get them ready to install. You never know when you'll need to swap them out.

I'm in the same situation, except my bike came with 2 extra sets of carbs. hopefully, that means I'll be in parts for these for a while.

Take the Diaphragm Pistons out of the Spares.
Mark them with a Sharpie near the Needle.
Clean and Treat the Rubber Diaphragms.

Store them in a cut-down Poster Tube.
    Store them right.
    Keep them treated.
