Hey, I just got my '82 xj750 out again this year and I have noticed something wierd, when I get the bike up to 55 mph there is a wierd grinding noise, it doesnt sound horribly bad but sounds like when you put a tape measure all the was out and then let it spool back in. I tdoes this from 55 up until 70 and then it quits. can anyone help me out here? thanks.

Sounds like it's time to check the camchain tensioner. These engines have a vibration around that speed and although normal it sounds like yours is past the normal stage.
