I jsut orderd a HID kit online and am wondering if anyone else has does this before, says it is a plug and play so no modifications are needed. Reading online it says that you need to install the bulbs a certain way to make sure you don't get glare. Anyone else installed these?

How much power do they use? If it's more than 100 watts it will be too much for the electrical system to handle.

Most HID kits use 35 watts or less actually, while putting out the same number or more lumens than regular bulbs. They do have a bit of a power hit when they're firing up, but that's only for a second - something like 70 watts.

What do you want to know?

It has been done. Did you order a single or a Bix?

Are you talking about the HID adapter kit that costs about $200?
I guess I'll stick with the $6 halogen bulb.

So, how did this turn out. Was the output worth it?

I Installed one on my Turbo.....Holy Crap what a difference! For roughly $120 it is a excellent upgrade. The transformer was square and thin, I mounted it with 3M double sided tape to the underneath of the headlight bucket (completley hidden) There was also a relay for the high/low setting, which got a self-tapping screw to the side of the turbo's metal headlight mount. The HID bulb snaps in just like a regular bulb, I ran the power wire to the battery and it was done.....at the same time I upgraded all filament lighting over to LED (brake/tail-signals-cluster).....so with the HID it takes 30% less juice than a halogen, and along with the LED conversion I get 14 volts during off idle RPM.....much better than before! My headlight used to dim when the bike idled below 1050 rpm, but not with the HID.

The brand name is V-HID, they have a website www.v-hid.com ....although I purchased mine off eBay about 10 months ago. What is nice about V-HID's kit is the high/low.....most other kits only have a low beam HID and a halogen high, where this kit has an electo-magnetic deal where it slides the bulb's position in&out for high/low---I think it works great, the solid crisp beam (I chose ultra white) is WAY better than the stock halogen. Now I'm able to see those deer much better standing off in the sides of the fields on my way home from work at 11pm.
