I have taken the nut off the bottom side of the handlebars, however there is something else still holding it on. Can someone tell me what that is? The bike is an 82 maxim xj750

If i recall correctly that bike has the square, aluminum bars. If so then there are two bolts to remove. One is hidden under a round plastic cap near the base of the bar, and the other is a pinch bolt that runs parallel to the triple tree.

If instead it has the round bars there are four pinch bolts that are under four small plastic caps on the clamps near the middle of the bars, just below the igniion switch.

Yes there is a plastic cap but after I removed the nut on the bottom, can't find anything that releases the cap on top. I have removed the triple tree and can see a bolt coming down, can't find a way to get to the top of the bolt. Going back with apes if I can accomplish this
