I don't have owners manual for 83 xj750rk, so just wondering if this is normal, head light and auxilery light don't work untill the engine is cranked, then they go on and stay on till keys turned off,

Just wondering if this is normal or not, can see why they would do this, save battery on start up, but just want to make sure

    Thanks Guys

There is latch on the headlight circuit that is closed when the engine is spinning fast enough to start. It saves some juice for the starter and the ignition, but it is possible to spin things enough to close the latch and re-power the headlight without the engine actually starting up.

In my 83 XJ750MK the headlight is on all the time, even before starting.

So I don't know about yours...
