Hi, i am Albert. Living in Holland, just below Rotterdam. I bought an xj550 seca last year as a project bike to convert it into a cafe racer. All was there on the bike only rusty and full of PO-bugs.
It was however driveable. ( at least i drove it home. Braking was an adventure.) When i got it home and taking a good look at it i started to like it more and more. So no cafe racer. Glad i changed my mind and just kept the model as is.
Took me about 6 months of cleaning, painting, finding parts and wrenching untill it was ready to ride again.
And man, it does go. I did not expect it would go like it does, being only 550cc from 1981 and with me, a healthy 100+ kilograms. Way to much fun and bad for your licence, but it is keeper.
In the meantime i got an Yamaha Radian for free so that is my current project. Working on these Yamaha's is a great way of relaxing after a day at work and al the info which can be found here makes it even a lot easier.
As soon as i find out how to get some pictures up i will do so.

    Welcome Albert.
So very glad you saw the beauty of a stock Seca and kept the airbox!
The black and white looks sharp.
