thought i should introduce myself. names nick. i'm an automotive driveability/electrical tech by trade. i recently got ahold of (again) my old 85' xj700. this was my first bike at 19 and i only had it for about six months. went on to other bikes. i've now got an 05' vstar 1100 that i love but needed to start the fiance on a bike since she's never ridden. tracked down the guy i sold the xj to and it was still in his barn 8 yrs later. hadn't been ridden in 7yrs. bought it back for $600. couple hours of cleaning, fresh tank of fuel, new plugs, couple new tires, and a battery later she roared to life! lovin it! still needs a couple of items as i'm finding out. got all the parts ordered today for a new clutch and starter clutch (doesn't look like it's gonna be fun). buy hey, if i can bring that screamin little demon back to life for her to ride for under a grand i'm ahead of the game i think. thanks for all the help ahead of time i'm sure i'll be needing. lol. anyway... here's some pics. thanks

Hey Nick, welcome to the forum!
Nice bike, pretty good to be able to track down your old ride.
