Hello everybody, I just got this today and said see ya later to the 4 wheeled way of life. Im a mountain biker by trade and hobby so I figured this is the logical progression into a 2 wheeled lifestyle. I will be doing little things to this bike to make it mine but everything for the time being will have to be worked on in an overnight timeframe since its my only means of transportation. I do have a work van if I need to use it but Im going to try and keep it simple.

I am new to forums so bear with me as I try to learn all this stuff...

Thanks for having a forum where I can figger this bike out!

Howdy Chad, welcome aboard. Not sure what you got, as I don't see a pic or other, but am assuming you're a new XJ owner.

    Congrats.

I am, its a 550. Good little running bike with plenty of power. My pictures are bigger than 500x500 pixels and im trying to figure out how to make them smaller. Im not real sure how to make that happen but i just tried it again, hope it works this time.

Welcome. Nice find! have you went over safety items on the bike? Rear brake shoes for delamination, tire and brake hose date codes? Master cylander and calipers functioning?

Yes, I have replaced the rear pads a few days ago but still need to replace the front brake hose. The tires are fairly new with plenty of tread on them. The mc and caliper work fine, but I will be putting new bars on soon and I have read on here that you need a flatter mc? If so, how flat and what works best?
