Ok so I finally got my carb rebuild kits in the mail. I can't for the life of me remember where to put some of the o-rings and the silver looking disk.

And for the grand finale..... anyone know what to do about a cracked "T" pipe?

The small (about 1/4" diameter) thin aluminum disc that comes with some of the carb lower-end rebuild kits is the idle mixture (a/k/a pilot circuit) adjustment screw block-off cap, and we recommend that you do NOT use it, as once it is driven in place (it's a friction fit), it's a beast to remove (drill it out). Better to use one of the replacement press-fit rubber bore hole plugs in it's place.........since you'll want to go into that port every so often and adjust the idle mixture screw as part of your tune-up process.

Put a tiny drop of Epoxy on the bottom of those Welsh Plugs and affix them to your Toolbox or Airbox.

On your Toolbox they will serve to remind you of your achievement in Cleaning and Servicing the Carbs ... a Badge of Honor.

On your Airbox ... you tell the tale about how you just had your Bike "Dynamically Center of Gravity Corrected"
Offer to let someone "Feel" the perfect balance.
SHOW them where they added tiny discs of Spent Nuclear Fuel to even-out the weight distribution after Zero-Gravity testing on a Mobile Scale owned by NASA.

thanks y'all. After I went through all of the trouble of making sure that I turned the screw exactly 11 times and slowly and painstakingly made absolutely sure that I took extra special care to ease the rack apart, and slid the 't' pipe out and replaced it with one from the bike's original carb set, did I realize that it has a rubber coating on the outside of the pipe and it wasn't split in the first place.

duh duh duh boy do I feel smart. :O
