I have been having trouble with the 82 xj750j not wanting to idle and the throttle sticking when I it off. I found today that if i turn the bars all the way to the right the bike accelerates and then the idle is off again. Seems I have a cable problem. I think maybe routing is an issue. Can anybody tell me the correct routing for the cable?

You can cure "Cable yank" in about two seconds flat!

Adjust the Cable Slack Adjustment at the underside of the throttle grip to give you a couple of mm's of slack before the cable pulls on the linkage.

Slide the Cable Sheath up toward the throttle grip to remove any play.

Using some textures Duct Tape ... tape the Cable Sheath to the Frame in a couple of places with the Bars turned all the way to the right.

    Done!
