Ok, I just put on drag bars and I'm having a few issues.

The first one is the brake oil level, for one its SO old and dirty I'm unable to look inside to even check anything, plus both screws on top have been threaded so I would have to drill to take it off, if it hasnt been fused together as it looks like it has. I remember seeing Alysiak00 having this problem.

Well I looked at a few other bobbers and noticed they didnt have this on their bike at all and was wondering what they did with it? was it just removed or is there another option? Because this:

    just isnt working for me.

Also my left controls are hitting my gas tank, I think I have a solution for this but I wanted to ask the community first before I did anything stupid.

But besides those minor annoyances, I'm really loving the look of the bike and I'm going bobber head first.

I had the same issues. As far as the left controls hitting the tank, I ordered a 2" handlebar riser. This will also allow me to lower the tripple tree another inch at least. If I would have gotten the 3" riser instead then I could have lowered the bike more. As for the brake issue I haven't figured that part out yet. I think Im going to get a left handed drill bit and try removing the rounded off screws. If that doesn't work I'll use an easy-out.

Could you post a pic of your bars to see what you got going?

i ran into the same clearance problems as well with my drag bars. as mentioned earlier, the right height riser will address most of the problem and also twisting the bars a bit to raise the handlebar ends gave me what i wanted. even with all that, controls on both ends hit the tank at full turn but i just don't do a full turn anymore.
reminds of the the joke, "hey doc, my arm hurts when i raise it like this". doc says, "stop raising your arm like that, that'll be $100".
it's just a "work around" for me, a result of my build skills and i'm ok with it.

yes that was me with the brake issue. I also cant read the brake fluid level but as long as it has fluid we should be good. I had tried to originally remove the mirror screwed into the resorvoir but it had seized itself. I tried soaking it in pb blaster and penetrant and neither one worked. All in all i just cut it off with a cutoff wheel.

as of right now i'm going to get her running with the factory switch but then over winter i will relocate new run/off, start button, and high/low beams to a bracket i made that will sit under the seat. when i do this i will snatch a set of clutch and brake levers/reservoir from a gxsr or r6 to use instead. those sets have an independent swith, they're newer, and look sweeter. I can also get shorty levers if i like too (thats a plus!!!)
