I´m having problems with my rear brakes, they seem to lose the regulatión to the point that they get stick and completely stop the bike

Remove the wheel and check for delamination (separation of the shoe material from the steel mounting plates). It's fairly common on older bikes, and especially on XJ's. The next place to look is the pivot points. Take 'em all apart, clean everything and lube the points that are supposed to get some grease (brake grease ONLY, not chassis grease).

your brakes might be worn out, once the cam that moves them goes too far the brake springs can't pull the brakes back
that can get you a wheel lockup at the worst time
