Gents, I'm 99.999 % ready to register this bike, when this happens!! :? Does anyone have a stuffed switch block that they can pull this small piece out and send to me.
Although the bike does not look that great, I'm going to register it first and ride it for 6 months, then strip it to restore her. So getting her up and registered is my priority right now :D :D

Hmm, not sure. Are they the same as an XJ750?
If so , I may have one in the shed.
Alternately, i may be able to source one for you from a couple of wreckers in Sydney that I know have 650 and 750 stock. let me know.

Mate they sure are the same! But i only need the plastic piece that actuates the headlight high/low so don't ruin a good spare on my behalf. Is there any thing you need i have some spares, not a whole lot, but!

I have found a couple in Brisbane but they only want to sell the whole unit for $75 plus, which may be ok, but i really don't need the whole unit.

Have got a coupla parts from
    http://www.motoretro.com.au/index.html
they are in NSW, easy to deal with, worth an ask. Th bikes looking good!
...or maybe a screw down from th top ..instead of th side.. with some glue you prefer, making sure to keep it out of th mechanism, make it look tidy for th rwc that 'll cost nothing at most and wait for a good one...good luck with th water as well.

Push the screw back in place and hold the whole shooting match on with a gob of hot glue. Trim off any "evidence" that seeps out around the edges when it cools and hardens.

It won't last, but it will hold long enough and strong enough to get you through inspection; and the hot glue and be picked cleanly off when you do get the part.

Ozzyrod, what I have done in the past is; remove the screw, pump some clear silicone into the cavity, press on hard, then fit the screw, holds good, but can still be prised off if needed.
