Hi everyone, I'm a newb in these parts, just thought I'd say hi. My bike is an '83 Seca 550, all stock. Got it for $1900 Canadian. Not a bad deal I suppose. Now I gotta get rid of some junk, the garage is filling up!

HMM I see a chain on your 83 no shaft.Intersting.It is cool how things get modified.I like the look of the rear fairing(?) upper fender area near the taillight.

Beanflicker, that's as close as we'll ever see to an original unmodified XJ550.

Chain drive as standard as well as a six speed transmission.

    A very nice example.

Welcome ratchracing. You've got a very nice ride there.

Well I went out for my biggest ride yet today, 390 km. Rode with some bikes that were alot more CCs then the seca but I kept right up, I'm very pleased with the bike, now...... maybe a 4-1 pipe? Or should I leave it all original?

awesome 550 seca man! As stated above, very clean indeed. As for a pipe? that all depends what you want. My twin brother had one of these bikes about 15 yrs ago and swapped his stock cans for a 4into 1 kerker. It had the best sound going on at the time and increased his hp +3 and torque +3. With a stage 2 jet kit of course. Welcome aboard dude!

Honda nighthawk 450 from the mid 80's ...
    Cool.

Do you have the fairing for it? Very nice looking bike! I think that if the pipes are still good I'd leave them on.

if you're keeping up with the big boys i'd leave it alone until your pipes start to rust or something

Yeah I guess I'll just leave the pipes be, keep it all original. As for the bike in the background, there are 2, a 2005 Yamaha Raptor (mine) and my moms 1986 Suzuki GR 650 Tempter. I'll post a couple pics of it later.
