I just noticed, ever since I made that final tweak on my mixture screws, no more popping through the exhaust!

Last weekend, I had made one final adjustment to a lean cylinder, replaced my fuel filter and since then, my plugs are finally starting to tan, the idle is smooth instead of lopeing, acceleration is smooth from 0- whatever with excellent, scary power. The bike used to pop during deceleration, but no more. It seems as perfect as you could get.

Except for one thing....my milage seems to have suffered. I used to get 40 mpg. I think I'm getting less now but I'll have to remeasure a couple of tanks. My best tank was 185 miles but the last tank was around 135.

I do like to get into the throttle though. I need to restrain myself.

My exhaust only pops when I'm warming up. I always wondered about why it did that. As soon as I check my valves i'll be able to make it quit

popping = lean for that powerband/rpm range, right?
