Hi all registered yesterday, you may have seen my pics in recent photos
I'm Dave from Australia, bike is an XJTurbo with DJP sidecar, I have had the bike since about 1990 bought it for $600 as the turbo had blown
It has been modified slightly since.
Full 891 topend and crank into original cases
Carbs are early FJ1100 I think
Front end is leading link with 4spot brakes off GSXR
rear wheel is 16" out of virago or 15" depending on tyre avazilability
    Sidecar is 1976 DJP single
Bike has done many many milesprobably over 250,000km
Happy to answer any questions about it all

Welcome. Man, I really like the side car rig but I LOVE the freezer side car 8O :p even better. Here is a question: "Is that freezer 12 volt and how long will the beer stay frosty?"

motor etc removed from fridge, but good insulation in the old fridges, 15 cartons on ice, cold till last drink over a weekend, lots of rallies had no BYO rules but no-one ever stopped this rig for some reason.

    Nice one Dave,

Any chance of pics of sidecar fixings onto TurboXJ.
I would love to get mine rigged up with a sidecar (was actually the point of getting the 750).

The bike was stripped to a bare frame for the sidecar setup many years ago. The frame was reinforced with triangles of metal with a tube joining them across the frame. This lets me run a simple threaded rod across the frame through the tube. This is great for setting up toe in and lean etc. Also makes it easy to adjust for different loads.
It would be difficult to fit without cutting up the the fairings so I was lucky in having some spare battered fairings to cut holes in.

I will post some pics in my gallery as I am not having much luck getting pics to come up in forum.
