I just changed out my plugs and I wanted your opinion on how they look as far as the lean to rich ratio. Do they look lean, just right, or rich? Thanks guys!

I'm not expert but they look

A ) Massively Lean - As in dangerous to the engine
B ) Almost unused but very rusty... Weird

The rust is because they have been on the bike for the past two years, and the bike sits outside.

Now here's the $25,000 question. How can I be running lean yet still get crappy gas mileage? I'm roughly 70 miles into a tank when I hit the reserve.

you may not be running lean, im not expert but fitz says with the newer gas and ethanol and whatnot, the white part is not the part to look at, rather the ring on the inside of the threads is the place to look as well as the metal that the spark arcs to... but i dont know how its running, lol

Too lean to not worry about doing damage.
A Mixture that Lean burns intensely hot and fast.
The Head and Pistons cant handle that kind of heat.

If you are going to run the Bike, ... add some Marvel Mystery Oil to protect the Engine from being destroyed.

The Marvel is light enough to burn.
It will slow down the Combustion and let the Bike run cooler.

You need to find-out why the Carbs are running the Bike that lean.

    Massive air leaks
    Wrong Jets
    Jets incorrectly placed
    Stuck Diaphragm Pistons
    Mixed Air Jets

You might have all the wrong Jets on that Bike for all we know.
