How much longer are 750 forks than a 550.

I'm working on my 550 and I lowered the front to get clip ons above the tree. I know 750 forks are the same diameter tubes. My question is how much longer are they? I might want to raise the bike back up a bit and this might be the best way.. maybe not the easisest. but this opens up the possibility to add in dual disc up front.. Does a 550 wheel fit for the time being running the single caliper off a 550 or do i need the 750 wheel, disc and calipers. Any insight would be great.

I plan to eliminate the air assist and cover the holes for anyone wondering.

go to the next size tire it will be taller I will get the size for you

110/90-19 is 1 inch taller that 100/90-19 stock
not much clearance at front fender

why not just put clipons below tripple tree bracket?

750 tire is 100/90-19 same as 550 tire

all rims are set up to put dual discs on the rim

I'm not planning on running a front fender, or if i do i'll make a custom shorty fender so a bigger tire is a good option. The clip ons below the tree are not at a comfortable position to me, but it might be a viable answer too.

I did notice the rim could accept a second rotor, which brings me back to the main question. It'd be a win win if I were able to put 750 fork tubes and such on for the added braking power and added height. Especially if I could add the braking system as I go onto my stock rim and pick up the MC and lines from a 750 down the road..

If the rotors/tires are the same (an assumption of mine), than im guessing i would be able to use my stock caliper for now if I were just to pick up the tubes. Ultimately I think dual brakes would be a great addition to the build.

Thank you XJ550H, and anyone else if any further information can be provided.

Be careful. When you play around with fork length you're altering how the bike handles. Measure, measure, measure (angles too).

Yes, I'm taking that into consideration which is why I need the longer forks, or more specifically need the measurements of the longer forks. I'm aware of rake angles and trail. Also i beleive the offset of the wheel is different, so if anyone has that measurement as well.
