How "rare" 900 Seca's?

    only imported in the usa 1 year,,,, I think they were made for years after I think 92 they had some changes,,,,,,I'm temped to pick another up I like mine so well,,,I've had mine for about a year now,,,,,need to do the whole nine yards an you'll have a sweet bike.....65k an I'm thinking it'll do a 2-5k trip soon this is my goal,,,,,,I'm cleaning all specks of rust out of the tank right now kind of took me by surprize,,,,,,,,,25 yr old bike got to expect it'll needs some love,,,,,,

    They dropped them after one year because they introduced the FJ1100 in 1984. The Seca 900 is a great all around motorcycle, thats why I buy all I can to insure that I`ll have one to ride for years to come.

    The Seca 900 was a Showroom Bike. 1000 were sold in the US. Major Mover's of Yamaha Freight got 2 to sell. Lesser performing dealerships got 1.
    Some got none and had to take an order for those that Yamaha stored on the West Coast.

    I got one.

    They are very sweet looking bikes and I've got to admit I'm finding the 700 Maxim a little buzzy for my tastes. Piece o cake to ride. Great riding position for traffic but find myslef trying to shift into sixth at 45 mph. Come 70 mph and it is better. Go figure. I think this is poll material. More to come but not tonight. Got up way too early today.
