How to clean the bike

    hi my bike was sitting out side before i got it how should i clean the motor and other parts :?:

    Avoid spraying high pressure water in the places where it shouldn't be (where there be bearings, oiled fittings, electronics), you can clean the wiring with WD-40 (about all it's good for), the plastic with vinyl cleaner, the chrome with chrome polish, treat the paint just like you would a car. A good solvent will work on the caked on grease/dirt-and a whole lot of elbow grease!!

    After I got my max clean I took apart, cleaned, and replaced/ or repacked all the bearings, changed the oil, cleaned/lubed the chain (550), and pretty much lubed everything I could (even dielectric in the connectors)-so now she's clean and fully water repellant!.

    You can see the XJ550 in my gallery the second pic is about 1/2 the way through the process. It was neglected (cleanliness wise) when I got it.
