Does anybody know of a way to ship a motorcycle cheaply? Every bid I recieved at uShip has been over $500. That's more than the bike cost. Anyway, if anybody has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

There is just no way around it. Depending on how far away you live, it'll cost just as much, or more, to drive out and pick it up in a truck or a small trailer.

Unless you know someone who will be willing to help you out (good buddy who'll bend over backwards for you), that's about what you'll expect to pay.

Cheapest way to ship is by pickup, or with a car and trailer. That is unless the cost of the fuel and meals is over the shipping price. Of course $500 for a road trip sounds like a bargain....

If you're buying at distance, you simply have to figure the cost of shipping into the final price of the bike. My coworker purchased a BMW off Ebay and got it for a real good price, but once he figured in the grand to get it from AZ to WA, the "real good price" seemed pretty average.

With my company they have a thing called accesorial charges. In the event you have a large item deliverd to your home most likely you will need a liftgate to get it off which is at least a $70.00 charge.Togo into a residential neighborhood it is also a extra charge. We do get customers to sign a paper stating these services are rendered. You can usual get your item shiped to your work if they have a dock,or to a freind that may have a tow motor,or a local terminal.good luck
