How to stop front brakes from squealing?

    I put new pads on it and it sounds like a train stopping. It gets lots of attention so maybe the noise is good but how can I make it go away?

    on mine i filed the leading edge of the pads at a 45 degree angle, only a couple of mill though, it seemed to settle them down till they bedded in, not sure if thats worded right.

    Chamfer the Pads.

    Google: "Brake Pad chamfer-ing"

    "Rounding-off" the sharp, right angles on the leading edges of Brake Pads.

    ::: Many Brake Pad Manufacturers chamfer replacement pads during manufacturing. :::

    Interesting, I will have to try that as well with my rear pads. The noise has been driving me nuts since I fitted new pads and disks.
