hsc 32 carbs run fine , wont idle

    Have 81 xj 750 with 32mm hitachis. Bike runs fine once on main jet but will not idle nor start even when enriched. The bike will fire with a shot of carb cleaner in the airbox.

    When is the last time carbs were rebuilt?
    A good cleaning, replacement of worn components and proper synching will make you happy.

    Hydroblasted last week new needles seat valves all the bs. Just wont idle. ???

    Was the carb rack split ? Were the butterfly shaft seals replaced with the correct seals? Were the carbs bench synched? If the pilot jets are plugged this can cause problems, were the float bowls enrichment jet cleaned with wire? These are a few items that come to mind to check .

    Not idling means that the pilot circuits are still dirty. Enrichment not helping means that the enrichment circuits are still dirty. These carbs really need to be cleaned by hand.
