    Found a great deal today on craigslist. Nice rust free garage kept with after market parts, and the original parts for 650.00 and the guy threw in 3 llike new helmets. Now I will be reading and posting more. Happy to have an excuse to be on the forum.

    Get a new helmet..... Just cuz they LOOK like new doesn't mean they are SAFE as new........ Betcha I'm not the only one that's gonna say this----

    Yeah don't trust the "like new" buckets. Ive had a couple helmets (motocross and mountain bike, but I'm almost sure its the same for road) where the outside was barely scuffed after a crash, foam inside was compressed hard. I had one last season drop about 4 feet onto carpet, when I went to wash the insides it was worse than one of my crash helmets. That foam works in mysterious ways.
    Enjoy the bike though.

    Agreed. Not worth it. Get a new helmet. You can get a REALLY NICE one for under $150; and even some very good ones for under $100.

    Would you wear a "pre-owned" athletic supporter? EWWW 8O
