so i just installed a master cylinder, it went on nicely and it stops better. the problem with the other one was the sight glass on the master was crazed and couldnt see the level, and im the type i need to see how much is in there. not to mention that the P.O. took it to someone who drilled out the cover screws so i couldnt even open it.

Anyway .. so i put it on and everything is fine, just had to frankenstein the level indicator light. so my only problem is the mirror doesnt thread back into this tapped thread on the new master. unsure why, what should i do? ill try to get pics soon but i wanna put my mirror on so i can see. I dont have enough room on my bars to add a mirror.

sorry for writing a book .... any opinions on where to go for mirrors or what to do?

there are adaptors you need to know what thread the new one has and what the old one is. I know I have heard about them on here so hopefully one of the guru's will chime in but all is not lost..

Yamaha mirrors have a left hand tread on the right hand mirror. If you did not get a master cylinder with a left hand thread mount, you will need to get a new mirror. FYI, chacal, one of the board members, sells a sight glass replacement lens for $4.50. Always check chacal's price list before buying parts!

Yamaha Mirrors will fit without an adapter.
They make the mirror's arm reverse threaded.

All aftermarket mirrors (Non-Yamaha) will require an adapter you fit into the Master's mirror mount to accept the standard thread.

The adapter is usually mentioned in the ads for the Mirrors.
"Requires Adapter for Right Hand Mirror on Yamaha"
