lol I'll say . the guy had just put it up for auction about 20 mins before i found it LOL glad it was a buy now.

this piece was necessary to complete the body of the bike making one was my final option. I have already a basic fiberglas shell.

I've noticed too that all Right side covers are about 3X what the left side covers are. If I had the skills (and time), I'd go into business making right side covers for XJs.

I am thinking of going to a local fiberglas manufacture to see if its cost effective to make about a dozen

It would be for the 550 Seca at over $100 a pop.

The material and skillset necessary to do that isn't all that daunting; I used to work in a fiberglass shop years ago and it would be an easy one. The problem with doing it in your own garage is it's SMELLY as all get out. I'm seriously thinking about cranking a few out this summer. Might just build the mold and then take it somewhere to have them shoot a few, that way they could have a proper gel-coat layer and everything.

Flash, sometimes(not often) life is fair. You need to stay away from ladders for a while and it probably wouldn't hurt to toss a pinch of salt over your shoulder!

    Congrats!

Good score. Gotta love that ebay. I find probably 85% of the parts I need for my bikes on Ebay.
