First thing in the morning I streamed for news about world, national, state, and local events. Then one day I turned it off. But I found a great replacement, besides working on my '82.

Hanging out at XJBikes.com. Now everyday, first place I go is to get caught up on tech chat and what's for sale.

XJbikes.com is the place to be.

It's not the right time to be sober
Now the idiots have taken over
Spreading like a social cancer, is there an answer?

    Mensa membership conceding
Tell me why and how are all the stupid people breeding
    Watson, it's really elementary
    The industrial revolution
Has flipped the bitch on evolution
The benevolent and wise are being thwarted, ostracized, what a bummer
    The world keeps getting dumber
Insensitivity is standard and faith is being fancied over reason

Darwin's rolling over in his coffin
The fittest are surviving much less often
Now everything seems to be reversing, and it's worsening
Someone flopped a steamer in the gene pool
Now angry mob mentality's no longer the exception, it's the rule
And I'm starting to feel a lot like Charlton Heston
    Stranded on a primate planet
Apes and orangutans that ran it to the ground
With generals and the armies that obeyed them
    Followers following fables
Philosophies that enable them to rule without regard

There's no point for democracy when ignorance is celebrated
Political scientists get the same one vote as some Arkansas inbred
Majority rule, don't work in mental institutions
Sometimes the smallest softest voice carries the grand biggest solutions

    What are we left with?
A nation of god-fearing pregnant nationalists
Who feel it's their duty to populate the homeland
    Pass on traditions
    How to get ahead religions
    And prosperity via simpleton culture

    The idiots are taking over

My brother and son could talk about this subject for hours on end.
Medical advancement and big brother watchdog has let the weak and stupid survive putting a cramp in Darwins theory

Thought this was the hangout lounge...

And if you don't think politics affects motorcycles, perhaps a discussion regarding 700/750 cc Maxims, or the limited numbers of 900rl secas should be started.

we are living in tumultuous times, for the sake of friendships here 'ignoring the elephant in the room' is best. But only on this website, do not allow yourself to sit silently if you are not pleased with what is happening around you.
Complaining is not proactive to changing, neither is anger and violence; however jokes can be funny and laughter is good.

    Well said.

(Let me take off my moderator hat for a moment)

For those who disagree, go have a look at any other motorcycle forum. Read a few random threads and note the lack of civility, particualrly on forums that have areas set aside specifically for political discussions. If we really want this forum to head in that direction so-be-it, but I think that would ruin the place.

    (Mod hat back on)

Matti, the subheading for the Hangout lounge reads, "Introduce yourself and everything else motorcycle related..."
SnowSheriff put that there. I'm just abiding by it.
My take is that a political issue that directly affects motorcycles is fine, but general political discussion is not.

I have got sucked into far more news lately than typical, but with nice spring weather in CO now I can ride to work and let the motor drown out the pundits.
