    I was just looking, really. While looking through the for sale adds, I came across this nice looking bike a Black 83 Yamaha Venture but they were asking waaay to much for it $3000 but the last line of the add said "Willing to trade for a working car for equal value." I just happend to have a car that I was trying to sell a 98 Oldsmobile Aurora that my wife and I do not like. (We only paid $400 for the Aurora) So we go look at the bike and found it to be a good bike but more in the $1800 range. So after taking test rides and drives we agreed to swap vehicles. So I got a nice cruising bike for long rides and to ride while I rebuild the two that I have in pieces. I got some pictures but the bike is black and its dark out so you cant see it very well.

    I do need to replace the tires and take of the lower light bar (scraped it 3 times on the ride home in the turns).
    But overall I got a decent bile for $400.

    Looks like you got a good deal. Too bad some of the extra bling is dragging on you.

    There is already a site for them (don't need to clutter up this one :wink: ) VentureRider.org. You'll find it well worth the $12 annual dues.

    Funny, recently a similar thing happened to me, well, I sold my '74 Ford pickup for a tidy sum, and accidentally stumbled upon not one but two really neat bikes I couldn't refuse.

    1981 Honda CB900F Super Sport 19k miles- $850

    and about a week later:

    1990 V-Max, 37k miles- $2000 As many of you no doubt know, the V-Max's storied powerplant is substantially the very same motor as the underrated Venture, and at least it's a Yamaha! What a ride, you guys! Highly recommended!

    The sad thing is I was looking around for a new XJ project bike. Shockingly, at the moment there aren't an abundance of good ones right around here, at least not the ones I want (Seca Turbo, XJ900) and I'm easily distracted by shiny objects, and well, the rest is history.

    So I guess it will be a little while before I find my next XJ- UNLESS?? Anyone wanna swap me an XJ900 for the Super Sport, straight across trade?
