Ha, I'm pretty stoked! I just won a Cell Buckle on Facebook.

I know I'm always missing calls when I'm on the bike. With the Cell Buckle you can keep your phone visible. Check it out. Pretty affordable too.

    Anybody here ever used one?

Ha, no threats there. Pretty sure the wind will create to much noise for any conversation. My wife is happy about it too. Now, she says I don't have any reason for missing her calls when I'm riding...ha.

Who wants to worry about a phone when your riding, pitch it in a bag and check it at lunch or even better the end of the day. My boss used to get pissed because she couldn't reach me immediately when I was riding my bike.

If you must be reachable it looks interesting let us know how It holds up to the vibration. I would worry about it wanting to spin on the bar.

Another device to aid in the distraction of drivers. Keep your self focused on driving or riding, keep your phone in your sidebags.

oh, give me a break. I still love my wife so I do like to take her calls! Don't give me this crap about distractions...

Being able to see if a call comes in is not a distraction. Feeling my pocket repeatedly and wondering for miles if it vibrated and if I should pull over IS!

Riding while constantly worrying about distracted drivers is a distraction. Better leave that shit in your bag too...

The only reason I would want my phone on my bars is to use the gps feature. But no need, since half the time I know where I'm going, and the other half of the time I don't care where I'm going!

That is not the case either. I usually love the advice of others... I read the pages of this forum EVERYDAY.

My bad, I may have come on a little strong there. It just seems like a lot of negative nancys around here lately. Seems like every time someone has a new idea or something different in mind they get targeted by all the safety police!

Its a simple cell mounting clip to help me see a call come in and possibly gps. Its not as though I'm playing games on my phone while trying to navigate a twisty mountain road in the pouring rain, at night.

Re: I won a Cell Buckle! SWEET

I just helped a friend mount one on his Stratoliner. He wanted it for when he uses the phone's GPS.

The thing actually holds the bars pretty snugly. His is behind a windshield but I doubt it would twist in the wind. The Stratoliner is a big twin so it had that phone vibrating pretty good at idle. If it didn't smooth out at speed it would be challenging to use the GPS I think. I suspect an XJ wouldn't sling it around as much.

What I would watch is the heavy rubber band that holds the clamp tight. I could see that thing deteriorating over time and snapping. The manufacturer must think so too because there are two of them in the package.

    Nice find.

I don't use a cell phone so the need for a buckle escapes me but you seem
so happy about it that it must be a good thing.

    congrats!

hey hope you didn't take me to seriously the thing does look useful for someone who needs/wants to be reachable.

MiCarl - glad to hear that it holds up to vibration

Re: I won a Cell Buckle! SWEET

I don't have a cell buckle but I do have a bar mount that holds my phone. I use it for GPS. It sits just to the right of the tach so a glance down at the gauges is all it takes to see where I need to go.

I think it's better/safer than trying to look at a map taped to my tank.

Re: I won a Cell Buckle! SWEET

The Cell Buckle came in a couple days ago. Today I was able to get it on the bike. I needed to ride a little bit so I could change my oil so I mounted the buckle to test it out.

The temperature when I decided to ride was 35 degrees. I may have been a bit ambitious! I put 11 miles on her. Wow, was it cold!

It was literally a bumpy 11 miles. The cell buckle did excellent! I was impressed. It bobbed and bounced and never loosened its grip on my phone or handle bars.

For me, it was certainly worth the $5 in shipping! If you want to keep a phone, gps, or music player in view, I highly recommend it.
