My bike is idling pretty high, adjustment screw isn't making any difference. If I turned the screw too many times one way or another, does it disconnect or come out of whatever it is screwed into between the carbs? any ideas?

    hi Mike,
The idle screw has pretty fine threads for fine tuning in your idle. Yes if you screw it to the left to far it will come out but no biggy just screw it back in.
Now if your idle doesn't go down when ya back out the screw have you tried putting more slack in the throttle cable?

hey we were all rookies at one point. When I first got my bike I thought the cable WAS how you set the idle  that's why l suggested to check it. :)

My idle adjust screw didn't work either. Then I pulled the carbs off and found out that the PO had backed the darn thing out about 1/2". After a zillion turns it finally has an effect on the idle!
