I’m psyched to finally have my bike back together, after tearing down the top-end, a few years ago. I’m happy to hear it keep running after it’s warmed up. Which means I got the valve shims right. (All 20 of them).

I remember setting up my carbs and bench syncing them but I don’t remember anything about how it whatever, because that was a couple years ago. The bike fired up nicely. As it got warm, I shut off the choke and it kept running. Smiling big, because it’s a great sign. I hit the throttle for a quick spurt. It revs high and doesn’t come down :( I tried messing with the throttle adjustment, under the carbs, with no difference. I back off the throttle cable rail screw and it backs off. I give the throttle another quick hit and get the same high RPM, that won’t come down again. I ended up shutting it off, because I don’t want to blow the engine. I would luv some advice on where I should start.

Check for vacuum leaks...everywhere. Make sure your clamps are on right and boots are on all around. Check, using the spray method, all eight ends of the throttle shafts.

Are all the air fuel mix screws set to the same amount of turns? I had a similar issue. Maybe a float pin isn't seating properly?

Also could try pressing down on the carb sync bar and see if it goes down.

The answer may be about the dumbest thing I’ve ever overlooked. When I set up the carbs, I didn’t know what the air screws should be set at , so I left them bottomed out, until I found an answer. It appears that I never changed them. I recently read that I should start at 2.5. So yesterday I remedied that and I’ll be starting there, today. I didn’t fire it up, yesterday after setting them, because it was so late and I didn’t want to disturb the neighbors.
