Ignition Coil Replacement

    I have a 1983 Yamaha Seca 750r. While working on it, it fell over and smashed the #4 spark plug cap. My question is do I need to replace the whole ignition coil or can I just replace the cap. The coil is 12v CM12-09. Thanks for any information.

    You should be able to just replace the plug cap on the wire.

    The caps unscrew from the end of the wires; you can replace just the cap. Be sure to get a correct cap, to match the other three (the bike uses resistor caps.)

    thanks for the help. another question: what size are the caps? i was looking around and i see some that are for 10 & 12mm and another one for 14mm. which ones do i use? thanks again
