i did have a thread going about this but it disappeared. trying to solve this electrical problem (http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=33301.html) and took my main switch (key) apart to clean it. when i put it back together it doesn't work. i tried multiple times to install it and i cannot get it to work. i wanted to know if i could bypass the key for troubleshooting sake? and then i just buy another ignition switch from Len.

you can wire in an on/off switch instead for about $3.

red on the OFF side, brown and blue on the ON side. be sure you get at least a 20 amp switch @ radio shack or advance auto.

ok, problem solved...i put it back together the wrong way (5 times or more)...now it works and the resistance that was there before is gone due to a good cleaning. now that i know my ignition switch is not the problem, i can keep troubleshooting this bast@#$. speaking of troubleshooting, perhaps i'll just drop the trouble part and start shooting it...i'm due for some target practice anyway.
