    Hey everybody! I just recently got my XJ650 Maxim and was amazed at the following these bikes have! I have never operated this or any bike before so pray I don't submit any "OMG I DROPPED IT!!!" posts in the future. My ride is currently apart and being transformed to everything flat black.

    Intentions are to get some dumps for the exhaust to make it a lil safer since it will be damn near invisible at night (and to make it sound more my style). Drill out the airbox and rebuild the carbs with 112 mains. It appears I will have to buy a Colortune in the future but would like to try tuning without it first as I do come from a mechanical background.

    I have already redone the fuse block which was in desperate shape and have my inline fuel filter ready to.

    Hopefully in the next week she should be all back together and I'll post some pics!

    lol Welcome aboard! I don't think anybody here will mind if you are from Jersey!?? Nice to see a fellow 650 owner. Seen you already had a ? posted. Somebody who is more experienced should give you some other more likely things to check with that. In the meantime have a good one and good luck! Wow it did take a while for you to get a response on this one! lmao

    Welcome abourd Torgunde! I doubt it's an NJ thing. With thousands of members, I can't imagine you're the only one here from NJ.

    I too just picked up my XJ a couple weeks ago. I had taken an 18 year break from riding but I'm rapidly regaining my riding skills even though I'm taking it easy.

    My wife is from NJ, so I have nothing against that state. You just fell through the board cracks, it happens with so much posting.

    I still want to see the bike!
