Hey guy, I wanna do a intake box mod with stock set up and a k&n drop in filter.

My idea was to put a filter on the side of the air box before the filter not after . A filter that sticks out the side, a bit more air flow. Basically drilling a bunch of holes in the side of the box before the filter, will that mess with the carb air/fuel? I aslo plan on doing a jet kit but I'd rather not get my carbs tuned.

Any changes from the stock setup will make the fuel/air ratio lean out. You won't see any performance gains without making other modifications and spending quite a lot of time messing around. Even then the gains are modest and will typicaly result in flat spots. Just leave it alone and ride the damned thing.

What's the fun in that. Plus it'll look different than all the others. But yeah good call I'll just ride it as is for now

At the rate people are modding them, a stock bike will soon be the outlier.

the rubber tube thing that goes in the air box lid makes a difference on mine. If you want a different look just put the K&N on and don't drill any holes in the box. I won't tell anyone
